It is amazing when you stop and think about how many languages people in Morocco speak and the multiple languages spoken at the school.
At GWA instruction is provided in English and then students also have a daily French lesson. They have Arabic lessons twice a week.
The local version of Arabic is Derija, which is like Arabic but sounds different and has different words. Many students are also proficient in Derija.
Often you will hear people using a mix of French and Arabic. Some people speak Spanish as there are areas in Morocco with a Spanish influence as well.
All of this is to say that many people are Trilingual or Quadrilingual or even Pentalingual - had to look up the last two.
Makes me feel kind of lame knowing that I am only proficient in English. I am trying to learn French and some Derija but it is slow going....
