While settling into a developing country, the brain can’t help but compare experiences. I’m still working to accept what is during the challenging moments and appreciate the beauty. Being seaside has its upsides- the ocean breeze, the view and sound of the water in the backdrop, sunsets, and fresh fish.
The truth is, wherever we find ourselves in life, it always comes with challenges- I feel this is what keeps us whole. When there isn’t a sea breeze, the humidity is thick and I’m learning about the ways you have to keep up with it by cleaning floors, and placing these dehumidifier beads everywhere, which I still haven’t found those darn things, but we did find an actual dehumidifier for our bedroom. Thanks to this lil’ contraption, I had a dreamy night’s rest! I’m also learning how quickly food perishes with humidity. In reality, because produce is picked when it’s ripe, it only lasts a few days. Upside- it’s flavorful, packed with nutrients, and harvested as intended, but I’m finding I’m wasting more food. On a side note, our digestive systems are still acclimating. Yogurt each morning seems to help, as well as less meat.
Visited the market in Dar Boazza on a holiday- oh my, that was an experience. Thanks to Arthur for joining us. The photos capture the outing.

Dehumidifying? A concept unheard of by this Colorado native!
