Moroccan Seaside Fishermen

One of my favorite things to do in the early mornings is to watch the fisherman from the seaside of our community. They’ll come at all hours of the day, but the die-hards start when all of us are fast asleep. For some, it could be considered an “extreme” sport as they’re navigating the waves and somehow position themselves on precarious parts of the reefs.

Fish is a staple here in Casablanca, Morocco. There are fresh fish markets, where consumers can buy fish directly from the fisherman and they prepare it so it's ready to cook. Or, you can venture into the Casa Central Seafood Market, select your fish, and have it cooked and prepared to your liking. Watching the fisherman will be one of those “remember when” memories, especially the mornings where I’ve taken in the view from our bedroom balcony, and considered how they're risking their lives to feed us and their families.

Spectacular! Amazing photos! I think that would be scary to fish out there with those waves crashing around.
