Porto gets its name from the infamous Port Wine, which makes it a haven for good food and drink. We took a short, direct flight here from Casa for a long weekend. This place is so charming with side meandering streets, breathtaking views, and subtle surprises around every corner that are hidden within nooks and crannies. The distinctive blue tilework, orange Spanish-style rooftops, artistic graffiti, colorful tilework, and simmering pork are a few of the sights and smells that awaken the senses. Mike and I wined, dined, rented bikes,

and strolled along the coast. The trip culminated with a Foodie tour throughout the city.

Porto has something for everyone from street musicians to breathtaking views along the Douro River, and beatnik bookstores, it’s a place you can continue to come back to and each time take a bit of Porto home with you.
