Woke up this morning to beautiful blue skies, and varied shades of turquoise blue ocean. It’s been a day of leisure as Mike headed to the beach and I had my first hammam experience in Dar Boazza. It was amazing. I had more dead skin cells sloughed off than you could ever imagine, followed by a honey treatment, anise tea and a dreamy massage. All the oils here are made from argan and it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I met a woman at the spa who gave me the name of a colorist and hair stylist in Casablanca- which is badly needed at this stage. There are always kind people willing to help, offer suggestions, or bring joy to your day.
It’s hard to believe that we’ve already been here two months. Since Sept. 1st the roads on our street have quieted as all the summer sun seekers have left with the start of school. I’m understanding the appeal more and more of why we’re living here- it’s serene when the crowds clear out.
